TRINA HOY
'Designing for theatre and designing shoes are very similar. They are both highly introspective processes. You
are creating an artwork through which ideas and character are expressed. Every detail matters.'
It is 'to the enth degree' designer Trina Hoy works to create her Enth collection. Trained at NIDA - Australia's
National Institute of Dramatic Art - she specialised in intricate stage props and puppet design before turning
her eye to shoes. Her puppeteer's respect for animation brings each Enth creation to life.
'to inject personality into your design you must have a complete understanding of the way it moves, of its
symbiosis with your raw materials and its interaction with design embellishments. A creation's survival means
you have experimented endlessly with prototypes.'
Enth shoes are rich with stories of their own making. All designs are created by Trina at her studio in Sydney
and then carefully brought to life in collaboration with highly skilled Australian theatrical technicians.
Passionate about developing the creative world of Enth Trina is always searching through museums and
galleries, sifting through history for knowledge of the unique and timeless.
Beautifully soft flats, that is what Trina has become known for. The very best leather is carefully picked out
in striking colours: metallic brushed and feather cut Lilas with a single silver hand-crafted flower is
everybody's favourite. Persephone in slate steals its row of ruby red flowers from a hairband seen bobbing
down the street of a small Australian country town. Each lovingly made and deeply classic style has a warm and
inviting flourish of rich age.
'It is through a true sense of personal comfort that personality shines.'
